Biographical Information[edit]
Tsutomu Edamura played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Edamura was signed by the Daiei Stars in 1955, and he hit .193/.261/.237 in 77 games as a backup outfielder in his rookie year. He improved to .240/.285/.331 in 1956, then his batting line was .212/.261/.353 in 1957. He was also selected into the 1957 NPB All-Star Game, and he was 0-for-1. Edamura jumped to the Taiyo Whales in 1958, but he struggled as he had a 1-for-25 record. He then hit .198/.264/.248 in 1959, and he announced his retirement after the 1960 season. He later ran a tea shop.
Overall, Edamura hit .210/.261/.299 with 225 hits and 16 homers in 6 seasons in the NPB.
