All-Star Game[edit]
The NPB All-Star Game featured three games and was won by the Pacific League two games to one. The first game was played at Kawasaki Baseball Stadium and was won by the PL, 3 - 1. The second game was played at Korakuen Baseball Stadium and was won by the CL, 5 - 4. The third game was played at Korakuen Baseball Stadium and was won by the PL, 6 - 5.
Postseason[edit]
In the Nippon Series, the Taiyo Whales (CL) defeated the Nishitetsu Lions (PL), 4 games to 0. The winning manager was Osamu Mihara and the series MVP was Akihito Kondo.
Award Winners[edit]
The winner of the 1960 Sawamura Award was Ritsuo Horimoto of the Yomiuri Giants. He had a 29 - 18 win-loss record, 210 strikeouts, and a 2.00 ERA in 364.2 innings.

High School Baseball[edit]
The 42nd National High School Baseball Championship featured a total of 1903 schools competing for 30 spots in the finals at Koshien. In the championship game Hosei University Daini High School (Kanagawa) defeated Shizuoka High School (Shizuoka) by a score of 3 - 0.
The 32nd National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament featured 23 schools competing in the tournament at Koshien. In the championship game Takamatsu Commercial High School (Kagawa) defeated Yonago Higashi High School (Tottori) by a score of 2 - 1.

All-Japan University Baseball Championship Series[edit]
The 1960 All-Japan University Baseball Championship Series featured 10 schools competing in the tournament at Meiji-Jingu Stadium. In the championship game Hosei University defeated Doshisha University by a score of 2 - 1.
