Professional Baseball

The Nippon Baseball Association is founded on August 18. The Association was a predessesor of the first professional league which would be founded six months later.

High School Baseball

The 21th National High School Baseball Championship featured a total of 666 schools competing for 22 spots in the finals at Koshien. In the championship game Matsuyama Shogyo High School (Ehime) defeated Ikuei High School (Hyogo) by a score of 5 - 1.

The 12th National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament featured 20 schools competing in the tournament at Koshien. In the championship game Gifu Shogyo High School (Gifu) defeated Koryo High School (Hiroshima) by a score of 5 - 4.
