All-Star Game[edit]

The NPB All-Star Game featured two games and was a tie one games to one. The first game was played at Osaka Baseball Stadium and was won by the PL, 2 - 0. The second game was played at Koshien Baseball Stadium and was won by the CL, 9 - 4.

Postseason[edit]

In the Nippon Series, the Yomiuri Giants (CL) defeated the Nankai Hawks (PL), 4 games to 3. The winning manager was Shigeru Mizuhara and the series MVP was Takehiko Bessho.

Award Winners[edit]

The winner of the 1955 Sawamura Award was Takehiko Bessho of the Yomiuri Giants. He had a 23 - 8 win-loss record, 152 strikeouts, and a 1.33 ERA in 312.0 innings.

High School Baseball[edit]

The 37th National High School Baseball Championship featured a total of 1721 schools competing for 23 spots in the finals at Koshien. In the championship game Yokkaichi High School (Mie) defeated Sakaide Commercial High School (Kagawa) by a score of 4 - 1.

The 27th National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament featured 20 schools competing in the tournament at Koshien. In the championship game Naniwa Shogyo High School (Osaka) defeated Kiryu High School (Gumma) by a score of 4 - 3.

All-Japan University Baseball Championship Series[edit]

The 1955 All-Japan University Baseball Championship Series featured 10 schools competing in the tournament at Meiji-Jingu Stadium. In the championship game Meiji University defeated Nihon University by a score of 1 - 0.
