Biographical Information[edit]

Corner infielder Frank Bolick was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 9th round of the 1987 amateur draft. He was named MVP of the California League in 1990, beginning the season with the Stockton Ports and ending it with the San Bernardino Spirit after being traded to the Seattle Mariners for outfielder Mickey Brantley. Frank batted .324 with 18 home runs and led the league with 102 RBI. He made his major league debut in 1993, playing 95 games with the Montreal Expos and batting .211 with 4 home runs. He spent the next few seasons bouncing around the minors (mostly Triple A) and independent ball, before returning to the majors for 21 final games with the Anaheim Angels in 1998.

Bolick enjoyed success during four seasons with the Chiba Lotte Marines of Nippon Professional Baseball from 1999 to 2002. In 2001, he drew 107 walks and batted .279 with 31 homers and 101 RBI, earning the designated hitter spot on the Pacific League's Best Nine team.
