From BR Bullpen

The 2023 CPBL All-Star Games were held July 30 and July 31, 2023. The topic of this year was the Chinese Taipei national team of the 2023 Asia Professional Baseball Championship versus the CPBL All-Star team.

Game 1[edit]

The first game took place July 30 at Tienmu Baseball Field with an attendance of 14,628. Chinese Taipei scored first when Tzu-Hao Lin and Pei-Feng Dai hit back-to-back singles in the 2nd inning. Ching-Kai Lin's ground ball drove in his teammate, and he utilized his speed to beat it out. Jose De Paula then retired Hsiao-Cheng Lin and fanned Chin-Wei Lin Wu to end this inning. The CPBL roared back in the bottom of the inning; Hao-Chun Cheng walked Tzu-Hsien Chan and Chih-Hao Chang added a double. Former CPBL steals leader Wei-Chen Wang tied the game with the same style as Chinese Taipei - an infield single. Cheng retired Francisco Peña, but Li Lin hit a single to take the lead for the CPBL; he won the MVP. Chieh-Hsien Chen then added an insurance run with a single, and Cheng gave up another run due to his wild pitch.

The Chinese Taipei team had a good chance in the 5th inning. Lin Wu and Cheng-Hua Yueh hit back-to-back singles, and Kun-Yu Chiang drew a walk to load the bases. However, Tien-Hsin Kuo hit an infield fly, and Hao-Chun Chiu struck out Ji-Hong Liu. Pinch-hitter Yuan-Hsu Hsin's single decreased the CPBL's lead to 2 runs, but Chiu retired Dai to escape the jam. Cheng-Jui Sung hit a double in the next inning, and Chiang's single made it a one-run game. However, the CPBL answered back soon in the 7th inning. Namoh Iyang drew a walk, Chou added a single and Chan's timely single drove in a run. Pinch-hitter Giljegiljaw Kungkuan then extended their lead with a RBI single. Kai-Wei Lin allowed a single to Ji-Hung Liu in the 9th inning, but he still closed the door for the CPBL.
