1990 CPBL All-Star Game

The 1990 CPBL All-Star Games were held July 20, July 21 and July 22, 1990. It was the first year of the CPBL All-Star Game. The Mercuries Tigers and Uni-President Lions formed the CPBL Red Team, while the Brother Elephants and Wei Chuan Dragons made up the CPBL White Team.

Game 1[edit]

The Game 1 took place at Kaohsiung Li De Baseball Stadium with an attendance of 10,000. Hung-Chin Tu, Tony Metoyer and Fu-Ming Tu shut out the White team, and the winning pitcher was Metoyer, who struck out 4 in 3 innings. Chi-Chen Tseng was 2-for-4 and he drove in the only run of the game, in the 6th inning.

Game 2[edit]

The Game 2 took place at Taichung Baseball Field with an attendance of 10,000. I-Tseng Lin was 2-for-2 with a double, and Chiung-Lung Huang scored a run while hitting a double. Kuang-Chi Huang pitched 3 shutout innings with 2 strikeouts, and he got the win.

Game 3[edit]

The Game 3 took place at Taipei Municipal Baseball Stadium with an attendance of 16,000. Luis Iglesias crushed the first homer in All-Star history off Dane Johnson in the 3rd inning, and he collected another long ball in the 5th inning. Rick Bernardo was 2-for-4 and drove in the other two runs for the Red team with a double. Chu-Ming Lee also blasted a solo shot against Yi-Chuan Liu, but that was the only run for his team and they lost the series.
