Biographical Information[edit]

Chen-Hsien Lin played in the TML and the CPBL.

Lin represented Taiwan in the 1989 World Port Tournament. The Mercuries Tigers signed Lin in 1990 when the league was founded. Lin hit .233/.275/.301 and attended the first CPBL All-Star Game. He kept up his solid performance, when he hit .237/.296/.263 and being selected into the All-Star Game again in 1991. He still hit .236/.319/.309 in 1992, but slumped to .212/.268/.265 in 1993. His batting line worsened to .206/.270/.225 in 1994, and he was even unable to played any games with the big club in 1995. The Kaohsiung native jumped to the TML in 1997, but his batting line was still poor at .180/.262/.215, and he announced his retirement after the 1997 season. Lin coached the Kaoping Fala from 1998 to 2000. He was the defense coach for the La New Bears from 2004 to 2009, then served as bench coach from 2010 to 2018. In 2019, Lin managed the minor team of the Lamigo Monkeys. He then back to the big club, worked as defense coach for the Rakuten Monkeys in 2020. He was the bench coach for the Monkeys in 2021, and transferred to the TSG Hawks and worked as the same position since 2022. Lin also coached the Chinese Taipei national baseball team in 2002 Haarlemse Honkbalweek, 2002 Asian Games and 2002 Intercontinental Cup.

Overall, Lin had hit .219/.281/.266 in six ten seasons in the CPBL and the TML.
