1990 CPBL
The 1990 Chinese Professional Baseball League was the first season for the Chinese Professional Baseball League. Building on Taiwan's strong amateur baseball history and high-quality import players, the CPBL quickly established itself as one of Asia's finer loops, clearly behind Nippon Pro Baseball and perhaps rivaling the Korea Baseball Organization (which did not yet have import players to complement Korean talent). The Wei Chuan Dragons would win the 1990 Taiwan Series.
