2002 CPBL
The 2002 Chinese Professional Baseball League season was won by the Brother Elephants, who took the second of three straight Taiwan Series. The league had its last season where it had rivalry from the Taiwan Major League, which merged with the CPBL prior to the 2003 CPBL season. Wen-Bin Chen broke a 10-year-old record for homers by a native player, with his 26 topping Chung-Chiu Lin's mark of 24. Taiwanese baseball saw a 57% increase in attendance in 2002.
