2000 CPBL

The 2000 Chinese Professional Baseball League season was the 11th season for the Chinese Professional Baseball League. The league contracted with the departures of the defending champion Wei Chuan Dragons and Mercuries Tigers. Tighter budgets due to financial problems led to a significant drop-off in foreign players; the two Taiwanese leagues went from 135 in 1999 to 33 in 2000. 41-year-old Chung-Chiu Lin won the home run title; he had been named the Tigers manager for 2000 before the team folded and he went instead to the Sinon Bulls. The Uni-President Lions won the 2000 Taiwan Series over the Bulls, 4-3.
