2001 CPBL
The 2001 Chinese Professional Baseball League season was won by the Brother Elephants, who took the first of three straight Taiwan Series. The Elephants became the first team in CPBL history to play a season without any players from North America, Latin America or Australia; they weren't a 100% local team, though, relying on Japanese hurlers Tetsu Yofu and Hajime Saito.
