Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Liang-Chih Ho played in the CPBL for 8 years.

Ho represented Taiwan in the 1989 World Port Tournament. The Mercuries Tigers signed him when they were founded, and Ho hit .241/.342/.288 with a league-leading 4 triples in his rookie year. He was also selected into the 1990 CPBL All-Star Game, and he was 0-for-5. In the 1990 Taiwan Series, Ho had a 0-for-6 record and the Tigers were beaten by the Wei Chuan Dragons in 6 games. He then lost his starting spot, and he only had 77 at-bats combined in the next two seasons. He bounced back in 1993, and he hit .259/.326/.315 with 2 triples.

The Taipei native slumped to .200/.236/.229 in 1994, then he hit .199/.281/.246 in 1995. He also tied Pai-Chuan Yao's CPBL record for 48 consecutive at-bats without a hit in 1995. He hit .277/.330.277 in 42 games in 1996, but he only played 19 games for them in 1997, then the Tigers loaned him to the China Times Eagles. He hit .206/.245/.226 for the Eagles, and he had a .176/.222/.176 batting line in the 1997 Taiwan Series. The Eagles were expelled after the 1997 season, and his professional career ended.

Overall, Ho hit .219/.293/.255 with 248 hits, 23 doubles and 7 triples in 8 seasons in the CPBL.
