China Times Eagles
The China Times Eagles were a member of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. The team was began play in 1993 as one of the CPBL's first two expansion teams (along with the Jungo Bears). The team won the first half of the 1997 season, but a revelations of a game-fixing scandal caused the team to falter in the second half going 11-35-2 (0.239), 20 games behind the half's champion, the Wei Chuan Dragons. Despite this the team played in that year's Taiwan Series but lost 4-2. Tainted by the scandal, the team disbanded on October 22, 1997. Only one player on the team, Ming-Hung Tsai, was not convicted.
