Biographical Information[edit]

Shortstop Michael Bosco played in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Bosco hit .237/.312/.308 for the Reno Silver Sox in 1989, and he signed with the Wei Chuan Dragons in 1990. He crushed the first leadoff homer in league history, against Elvin Rivera on March 23, and that was the first homer by a foreign player in the CPBL.[1] Bosco was selected into the 1990 CPBL All-Star Game, and he was 1-for-6. He ended up hitting .237/.293/.365 with 21 doubles in 1990, and he was 6th in doubles (tied with Matt Huff and Chin-Mao Chen). In the 1990 Taiwan Series, Bosco was 0-for-5 and the Dragons beat the Mercuries Tigers in 6 games. He also played for the Sinon Bulls in 1993, and he hit .245/.307/.365 in 63 games.[2]

Overall, Bosco hit .241/.300/.365 with 110 hits, 33 doubles and 6 homers in 2 seasons in the CPBL.
