2019 CPBL All-Star Game

The 2019 CPBL All-Star Games were held July 27 and July 28, 2019. The theme of this year was the Chinese Taipei national team of the 2019 Premier 12 versus the CPBL All-Star team. Amateur pitcher Sheng-Feng Wu, who would represent Taiwan in the Premier 12, was invited and he became the first amateur player to participate in the CPBL All-Star Game.

Game 1[edit]

The first game took place July 27 at XinZhuang Baseball Stadium with an attendance of 8,623. Legendary Cheng-Min Peng blasted a 2-run homer off Hsuan-Ta Liu in the 7th inning, and he won the MVP. Cheng-Tang Wang was 4-for-4 with a RBI, and Yung-Chi Chen collected 3 hits. On the other hand, Chih-Chieh Su became the first local player to blast two homers in a All-Star Game, and his second homer was a game-tying solo shot in the 8th inning. The catchers for Chinese Taipei, Dai-An Lin and Hung-Yu Lin, each crushed a solo shot, and slugger Yu-Hsien Chu was 2-for-3 with a homer. Game 1 was a tie with a 8 - 8 score.

Game 2[edit]

In front of 11,600 fans at XinZhuang, the CPBL won the series. Chih-Hao Chang was 2-for-3 with a clutch game-winning, two-run single when the bases were loaded in the first inning, and he won the MVP. Mitch Lively got the win with his 2 shutout innings, En-Sih Huang and Ryan Bollinger each notched a hold with 2 strikeouts in a shutout inning. Li Lin drove in the only run for Chinese Taipei in the 9th inning, but C.C. Lee still closed the game.
