Biographical Information[edit]
Sheng-Feng Wu has pitched for the Taiwanese national team.
Wu pitched 14 games in the CPBL minors in 2008, with a 2.95 ERA. [1] He pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings for Taiwan (4 H, BB) and won one game when Taiwan won the 2017 World Port Tournament. [2] He turned in a fine outing against South Korea in the 2017 Asian Championship (5 2/3 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, UER, 4 K); he was replaced by Cheng-Hao Wang with the game scoreless. Taiwan went on to take the Silver Medal. [3]
The sidearm hurler was 0-2 despite a 0.79 ERA in the 2018 Haarlem Baseball Week, losing two games to Japan. He tied Dachel Duquesne, Diegomar Markwell and Filippo Crepaldi for the tourney lead in losses. [4] He was the only pitcher to beat South Korea in the 2018 Asian Games, holding a team with two former major leaguers and plenty of KBO star power to one run in five before Tsung-Hao Wang took over, outdueling Hyeon-jong Yang. In his second outing, he was even sharper, shutting out China for 5 2/3 IP before Wang relieved; he got a no-decision as Quan Gan was also on. He finished the Games 5th in ERA, between Gan and Gi-yeong Im, and Taiwan got the Bronze. [5]
