Biographical Information

Sheng-Feng Wu has pitched for the Taiwanese national team.

Wu pitched 14 games in the CPBL minors in 2008, with a 2.95 ERA. He pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings for Taiwan (4 H, BB) and won one game when Taiwan won the 2017 World Port Tournament. He turned in a fine outing against South Korea in the 2017 Asian Championship (5 2/3 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, UER, 4 K); he was replaced by Cheng-Hao Wang with the game scoreless. Taiwan went on to take the Silver Medal.

The sidearm hurler was 0-2 despite a 0.79 ERA in the 2018 Haarlem Baseball Week, losing two games to Japan. He tied Dachel Duquesne, Diegomar Markwell and Filippo Crepaldi for the tourney lead in losses. He was the only pitcher to beat South Korea in the 2018 Asian Games, holding a team with two former major leaguers and plenty of KBO star power to one run in five before Tsung-Hao Wang took over, outdueling Hyeon-jong Yang. In his second outing, he was even sharper, shutting out China for 5 2/3 IP before Wang relieved; he got a no-decision as Quan Gan was also on. He finished the Games 5th in ERA, between Gan and Gi-yeong Im, and Taiwan got the Bronze.
