Biographical Information

Dachel Duquesne has pitched in the Cuban Serie Nacional.

He debuted with the Tigres de Ciego de Ávila in 2008-2009, tossing five shutout innings (4 H, 2 BB, 0 K). In 2009-2010, he was 0-1 with two saves and a 6.15 ERA, allowing a .366 average. He improved to 6-4 with four saves and a 4.81 ERA in 2010-2011. He was also 6-4 in 2011-2012 but his ERA rose to 5.59. The Tigres won their first title.

Duquesne posted a 5-6, 3.91 record in 2012-2013. He started 2013-2014 with a 5-1, 4.12 record and one save for the Tigres; when they didn't quality for the second half, he was picked up by Artemisa, going 2-0 for them but with a 7.31 ERA and 1.94 WHIP. Back with the Tigres in 2014-2015, he was only 3-8 with a 5.40 ERA for the league champs.

In 2015-2016, he improved to 9-6, 3.15. He tied Ubisney Bermúdez, Freddy Asiel Álvarez and Yaifredo Dominguez for 5th in the league in wins, was 5th in IP (117, between Yudiel Rodriguez and Wilber Pérez), gave up the 4th-most hits (122, between Yoalkis Cruz and Norberto González) and tied Frank Montieth and Liván Moinelo for 4th in strikeouts (73). He struggled in his lone appearance of the 2016 Caribbean Series. He relieved Moinelo in the top of the 3rd with a 5-0 deficit against the Leones del Escogido with one out and two on. He allowed a RBI single to Jorge Padilla, walked Rene Garcia, got Jose Lozada on a sacrifice fly and walked Rubén Sosa before Dominguez relieved him, giving Duquesne a 9.00 WHIP on the event. He was much sharper in the Cuban postseason at 3-0, 0.44 as the Tigres won it all. He beat Pinar del Río in game 3 to go up 3 games to 0. After the Tigres dropped three in a row, he got the call in the crucial game 7 as Ciego de Ávila tried to avoid being the first Cuban team to blow a 3 games to none lead in the finals. Duquesne was up to the task, holding Pinar del Río to six hits and no walks or runs in seven innings (though he fanned none) before Yunier Cano completed the shutout with two frames. Duquesne was named postseason MVP.
