2018 CPBL All-Star Game

The 2018 CPBL All-Star Games were held July 7, 2018. It was the last time that the league only had one All-Star Game. The players from the Lamigo Monkeys and the Fubon Guardians formed the CPBL Red Team, while the players from the CTBC Brothers and the Uni-President Lions being the CPBL White Team.

The game took place July 7 at Tienmu Baseball Field with an attendance of 8,128. The CPBL Red team's leadoff batter Chin-Lung Hu greeted rookie starter Hu Chen with a solo shot, and Chien-Fu Liao added a walk. Chun-Hsiu Chen's fly ball helped Liao advance to third, then the Red squad got their second run on Hu Chen's wild pitch. The CPBL White answered soon as Chieh-Jui Wu blasted a solo shot in the bottom of the 1st inning off Yi-Cheng Wang. The White team took back the lead in the 3rd inning, Chih-Hao Chang and Cheng-Min Peng hit back-to-back singles, and Chih-Chieh Su sent them home with a double. Ssu-Chi Chou added a single, and Su scored thanks to Fu-Lin Kuo's sacrifice fly.

CPBL White extended their lead in the 5th inning. Peng and Su singled against Cheng-Che Wu, then Fu-Lin Kuo hit a RBI single. Su scored thanks to Chih-Kang Kao's fly ball. Red pinch-hitter Yu-Ta Tsai hit a leadoff double and scored by Yi-Chuan Lin's single in the 6th inning, but they still couldn't decrease their opponent's lead because Ssu-Chi Chiu hit a 2-run single in the bottom. Yun-Wen Chen was on the mound trying to close the door, but he allowed four straight hits - to Pin-Chieh Chen, Yin-Lun Lan, Cheng-Fei Lin and Hu. It was a one-run game now, and Chen retired the next three batters to save CPBL White's win.
