Biographical Information

Yu-Ta Tsai has caught in the CPBL.

Tsai was drafted by the EDA Rhinos in the sixth round of the 2014 CPBL Draft, but he spent his first three seasons primarily in the minor league, only playing 19 games with the big club. When Kun-Sheng Lin struggled in 2017, Tsai had some chances, and he hit .163/.200/.209 in 37 games. Lin couldn't attend the 2018 CPBL All-Star Game due to injury, and Tsai replaced him; he was 2-for-3 with a run scored. He ended up hitting .271/.264/.371 in 24 games in 2018. However, when the team selected Pei-Feng Dai in the first round of the 2018 CPBL Draft and Lin bounced back, Tsai lost his spot. He only 27 games combined in the next two seasons, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Tsai hit .215/.239/.300 in 5 years in CPBL.
