Biographical Information[edit]

En-Sih Huang played for Taiwan in the 2014 Asian Junior Championship. He was the youngest player with Taiwan when they won the Silver Medal in the 2015 Asian Championship, a couple months younger than fellow hurler Yen-Ching Lu. While Lu led Taiwan in innings, Huang tied for last, appearing only once. He closed out the opening 8-2 loss to eventual champion South Korea, walking one and fanning one in a shutout frame. He then played in the Asian Winter League.

The Hualien native then represented Taiwan in the 2016 U-23 Baseball World Cup, going 7 shutout innings to beat Stuart Baron and South Africa but allowing 3 runs while retiring no one against Japan. In the 2016 Haarlem Baseball Week, he lost to Australia's Dushan Ruzic and Japan's Yuya Yanagi, but the latter came on an earned run thanks to an error by a teammate. Huang was selected by the CTBC Brothers in the second round of the 2017 CPBL Draft, but he underwent Tommy John surgery and missed the 2018 season. Huang was selected into the 2019 CPBL All-Star Game as a top starter prospect, and he pitched a shutout inning to get a hold. He was 3-5 with a 7.47 ERA in 2019.

Huang improved to 9-2 with a 4.40 ERA in 2020, and he ranked 7th in wins (7 behind Jose De Paula). He was the starter of 2020 Taiwan Series Game 4, and he pitched 5 shutout innings to get a win. He then relieved Ariel Miranda in the 7th inning of Game 7, but he allowed a 2-run homer to Chieh-Hsien Chen and the Brothers lost to the Lions. Huang suffered from shoulder injuries, so he only played 9 games with a 4.30 ERA in 2021 and he had a 4.56 ERA in 6 games in 2022. He had an elbow injury in 2023, so he missed the entire season.

Huang throws a changeup, fastball (peak 96.9 mph), slider and forkball.
