Tzu-Yu Lin has pitched in the CPBL.
Lin was drafted by the Wei Chuan Dragons in the fifth round of the 2019 CPBL Draft, and he soon became a regular starter for them.[1] He started 12 games in the minors in 2020, but his ERA was 7.54. He was the first local pitcher to get a win after the Dragons returned to the league in 2021, and he had a 3-11 record with a 4.65 ERA. Lin was 2-4 in 2022, and he had a 2.69 ERA in 15 appearances (11 starts). In the 2022 CPBL Playoff Series, Lin relieved Yi-Ta Lin in the 6th inning of Game 3 against the CTBC Brothers. He allowed a leadoff single to Kun-Yu Chiang, struck out Chi-Hung Hsu then walked Tzu-Hao Chen. Lin fanned Wen-Chieh Chen and Hua-Wei Lo relieved him; he struck out Su-Yi Lin to end this inning.[2]
The Dragons moved Lin to the bullpen in 2023, and Lin was selected into the 2023 CPBL All-Star Game. He replaced Hao-Chun Chiu in the 6th inning of Game 1, and he completed 2 shutout innings before being succeeded by Enderson Franco; he collected a hold. He ended up having a 5.20 ERA in 30 appearances, and notched 6 holds. In the 2023 Taiwan Series, he relieved Kai-Wei Lin in the 11th inning of Game 1, pitching a shutout inning with a strikeout of Chia-Jung Liang and got a hold. He then allowed a run in 2 innings in Game 5, and the Dragons beat the Monkeys in 7 games.
Lin's repertoire features a fastball that peaks at 92.5 mph, a curveball, sinker, forkball, cutter and changeup.
