Biographical Information[edit]

Su-Yi Lin has played in the CPBL.

Lin was drafted by the CTBC Brothers in the fifth round of the 2016 CPBL Draft, and he spent his first two seasons primarily in the minor league; he only played 5 games combined with the top team.[1] He hit .373/.417/.498 with a league-leading 21 doubles in the minors in 2017, and it earned a regular starter spot (split between LF and CF) for Lin in 2018. He recorded a .274/.321/.431 batting line with 5 triples, and he ranked 3rd in triples, 2 behind Chieh-Hsien Chen. However, he slumped to .245/.325/.385 in 2019, and he only played 64 games. The Brothers still brought him into the 2019 Taiwan Series, and he was 2-for-6, with a triple against Wei-Chun Weng in Game 2. The Lamigo Monkeys beat the Brothers in 5 games.[2]

The Kaohsiung native had fewer chances in 2020, and he only played 54 games with a .286/.359/.352 batting line. He was 0-for-4 in the 2020 Taiwan Series, and the Uni-President Lions beat them in 7 games. Lin spent his entire 2021 season in the minor league. He bounced back in 2022, and he hit .293/.392/.366 with 10 steals. He was selected into the 2022 CPBL All-Star Games, and he was 2-for-5 in the two games. In the 2022 Taiwan Series, Lin had a 4-for-15 record, with a double against Jen-Ho Tseng in Game 4, and he won his first Taiwan Series title as the Brothers swept the Monkeys. However, he slumped to .136/.240/.136 in 2023.
