Biographical Information[edit]

Ching-Kai Lin has been an infielder in the Chinese Professional Baseball League.

Lin was picked by the Uni-President Lions in the sixth round of the 2018 CPBL draft. short. He played in the Asia Winter Baseball League. [1] He debuted in 2019 against Lamigo Monkeys and getting his first hit off Tzu-Peng Huang. Lin broke his ankle and missed all the first half season in 2019, but returned in the second half and ended up with .300/.339/.350. In addition, the lions put him on the mound in September when they are 12 runs behind the Monkeys, made him become the youngest player to pitching of the team. Lin gained the starting second baseman spot in 2020. Although he only hit .243/.283/.324, he won his first CPBL Gold Glove and help the Lions won the championship this year. He hit .350/.381/.450 in the Taiwan Series[2]

Lin had the best performance among his career in 2021, batting .303/.330/.341 with 23 stolen bases. He is sixth in average, second in hit (24 behind Wei-Chen Wang ), second in stolen bases (4 behind Li Lin) and third in runs (behind Wang and Lin). He won his first Best Ten and won the Gold Glove again. In 2022, because their original starting Tzu-Chieh Lin injured, the Lions decided to move Lin to that spot. However, his condition was seriously influenced, not only hit career-worst .229/.288/.272 but also make career-high 20 errors. He even made an fatal error of forgetting to touch the home plate in April, made the Lions loss a win.[3] Lin bounced back in 2023, and he hit .261/.299/.302 as the regular shortstop of the Lions. He was 0-for-9 in the 2023 CPBL Playoff Series, and the Lions were eliminated by the Rakuten Monkeys.
