Biographical Information[edit]

Hsiao-Cheng Lin played in the CPBL and for the Chinese Taipei national baseball team.

Lin was drafted by the Wei-Chuan Dragons in the 13th round of the 2019 CPBL Draft. He spent his first season in the minor league, and he hit .365/.415/.496 with a league-leading 32 steals there. Lin was then used as backup outfielder in the next two seasons, hitting .247/.316/.348 and .200/.273/.256 respectively. He broke out in 2023 and he was selected into the 2023 CPBL All-Star Game; he was 1-for-6, with an infield single against Matthew Kent in Game 2. Lin ended up hitting .258/.324/.324 with 21 steals, and he ranked 2nd in steals (1 behind Chen-Wei Chen). He recorded a .174/.240/.217 batting line in 7 games in the 2023 Taiwan Series, and won his first Taiwan Series title as the Dragons beat the Rakuten Monkeys. Lin then represented Taiwan in the 2023 Asia Professional Baseball Championship after the season, but he was 0-for-6 in the entire event. Taiwan beat Australia to win Bronze.
