Biographical Information[edit]

Yu-Hung Chen was an All-Star in the CPBL.

Chen represented Taiwan in the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup. He started against Czechia, and he pitched 6 innings with only an unearned run allowed. Chen then blanked Panama for 6 innings to get the win. He led the tournament in ERA, and he was named as the starting pitcher on the All-Tournament Team. He also pitched in the 2022 U-23 Baseball World Cup. [1] The TSG Hawks drafted him in the ninth round of the 2022 CPBL draft. Chen spent his rookie season with the Hawks in the minor league (they would not debut in the top league for another year), having a 3-4 record with a 4.82 ERA. He ranked 3rd in ERA (1.76 behind Po-Ching Chen) and 2nd in starts (2 behind Tzu-Chen Huang) in the minor league. He was invited to the 2023 CPBL All-Star Games as the represantive of the Hawks, and he pitched 2 shutout innings in Game 2 to get a hold.[2] In the Championship Series of the minor league, he pitched 7 1/3 shutout innings against the Fubon Guardians, and helped the Hawks sweep the Guardians.

Chen is a submariner. His repertoire features a fastball that peaks at 82.6 mph, a slider and changeup.
