Yu represented Taiwan in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup and was dominant. He struck out four in two hitless innings to save Yu-Min Lin's win over Panama and allowed one unearned run in 1 1/3 IP in saving Lin's win over Spain. He then got the start in the finale against the USA. He threw 6 2/3 shutout innings (3 H, 0 BB, 7 K) to beat Lucas Gordon. He tied Kyle Harrison for the ERA lead, tied Arij Fransen and Kieren Hall for the save lead and tied for 5th in K. He won the MVP award. [1]

The CTBC Brothers drafted him in the first round of the 2020 CPBL Draft. [2] He spent his first two seasons mainly in the minor league, only pitching 2 games with the big club, both in 2022.[3] The Brothers sent him to the Auckland Tuatara of the Australian Baseball League for the 2022-2023 season, and he was 2-3 with a 5.34 ERA there. Yu relieved Shao-En Lin in the 6th inning of 2023 CPBL All-Star Game 2, and he pitched two shutout innings with 2 strikeouts (against Chih-Chieh Su and Chih-Hao Chang). He ended up 3-6 with a 4.95 ERA in 11 starts in the 2023 CPBL
