Cartagena, Bolívar

(Redirected from Cartagena)

Cartagena is not Colombia's biggest city, but as its largest city on the Caribbean coast, it is culturally more akin to the Caribbean basin than the rest of the country and as a result produced six of the first seven Colombian players to reach the major leagues. The city hosted the 1965 Amateur World Series, 1970 Amateur World Series, 1976 Amateur World Series and 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games.
