Biographical Information[edit]
Leonardo Castro has played for the Colombian national team and in the independent leagues.
Castro came to the US for college. He allowed nine runs (seven earned) in 2 1/3 IP for Rogers State in 2019 then threw three and a third shutout innings in 2020 before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He had a 5.73 ERA as a senior. [1] He pitched very briefly for Colombia in the Americas Olympic Qualifier, relieving Jean Ruiz with two outs in the top of the sixth, one on and a 15-2 deficit against Cuba. He got Guillermo Avilés on a grounder. Freddy Gonzalez then took over in the 7th. [2] He was 2-3 with a 12.13 ERA for the 2021 San Rafael Pacifics, walking 36 in 29 2/3 IP. He also played the outfield and hit .191/.261/.524 with two homers in twenty-one at-bats.
