Biographical Information[edit]
Middle infielder Jair Morelos played in the Philadelphia Phillies system from 2011 to 2014 for the VSL Phillies (2011-2012), GCL Phillies (2013) and Clearwater Threshers (2013, 2014). He was released by Philadelphia in June 2014. In 512 at-bats over 157 games, he hit .281/.320/.324 with no home runs, 49 RBI, 50 runs scored, 9 stolen bases and 144 hits. His brother is Jaider Morelos.
After his playing career ended, Morelos went to college at Northwestern State University and earned a bachelor's degree in music.
The Toronto Blue Jays hired Morelos in 2022 to coach the DSL Blue Jays. He returned to the team in 2023.
