Biographical Information[edit]
Hamilton Sarabia played four seasons in the minor leagues. He hit .283 for the DSL Astros in 2000, then batted .306 for the same club in 2001. The young outfielder hit .282/.382/.353 for the 2002 Martinsville Astros, stealing 18 bases in 22 tries and scoring a team-high 50 runs in 64 games. Back with Martinsville in 2003 despite his impressive '02 campaign, the Cartagena native hit .260/.339/.307 with only 6 steals and 22 runs in 47 games.
Sarabia led Colombia's offense in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, when he batted .333/.484/.542 with 6 runs in 8 games. He made no errors in center field but had three assists. His best performance came in a win over the Czech national team, when he scored four times and drove in one.
He helped Colombia take the Silver Medal at the 2010 South American Games. He later was a Texas Rangers scout for Colombia, signing Jorge Alfaro and Brallan Pérez.
