Biographical Information[edit]
Ernesto Redondo was a pitcher for the Colombian national team in the 1947 Amateur World Series; they won their first world title. He later played pro ball in Nicaragua and the US, hitting .205/.333/.272 with 30 walks and 29 runs in 54 games for the 1957 Tampa Tarpons, going 2-0 and playing 3B, SS, C and P. He later coached youth baseball in Colombia. When he died at age 97, he was the last living member of Colombia's first world champion baseball team.
