Biographical Information[edit]

Jhon Peluffo has pitched in the minors and for the Colombian national team.

He was signed by Baltimore Orioles scouts Fred Ferreira, Calvin Maduro and William Morales in March 2014. [1] He was 3-4 with a 4.35 ERA for the 2014 DSL Orioles 2. Returning to the same team in '15, he improved to 2-4, 2.21. He was a Dominican Summer League All-Star. [2] Coming stateside, he split 2016 between the GCL Orioles (3-0, 1.89 ERA, .87 WHIP, 40 K in 38 IP) and Delmarva Shorebirds (0-3, 13.50 in 3 G).

With a return stint with Delmarva in 2017, he had a 6-5, 3.50 record. He split 2018 between Delmarva (4-6, 5.31 in 16 G) and the Frederick Keys (2-2, 6.93 in 8 G). His 67 earned runs allowed were fourth in the O's farm chain, between Lucas Long and John Means. He moved to the bullpen and split 2019 between the Shorebirds (1-4, 5 Sv, 2.78 in 30 G) and Frederick Keys (0.87 ERA in 3 G). Opponents hit .174/.269/.248 against him on the year. He was 21-28 with 5 saves and a 3.91 ERA in 119 games in the O's system. The Cleveland Indians took him in the minor league portion of the 2019 Rule V Draft. [3] The 2020 minor league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cleveland then let him go. [4]

Peluffo was with Colombia for the 2022 Bolivarian Games. He debuted against Venezuela, closing out Yeizer Marrugo's two-hitter in a 10-0 win. He walked Juan Bidau then Yoandy Rea hit into a double play and Jose Garcia flew out. [5]
