Biographical Information[edit]

Yamid Haad was the seventh Colombian player to make the major leagues. He played 12 seasons in the minors and a couple in the majors. In December 2006 he signed a minor league contract with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays organization and played for the Buffalo Bisons in 2008.

He played in one game for the Pittsburgh Pirates as a pinch-hitter in 1999, when he was an emergency call-up due to injuries to their top two catchers. Joe Oliver was acquired shortly after, and he went back down to the minor leagues where he stayed for 6 more seasons until the San Francisco Giants called him up at the end of July 2005.

Haad returned to the Big Leagues in 2008 with the Cleveland Indians. He was called up on June 12th but was designated for assignment on June 19th before seeing any playing time.
