Biographical Information[edit]

Jaider Rocha has pitched in the minors and for the Colombian national team.

He was signed by Chicago White Sox scout Marco Paddy in April 2011. [1] He was 3-2 with a 3.06 ERA for the 2013 DSL White Sox, walking 24 in 35 1/3 IP. He had a 2-1, 2.05 record for the same team in 2014, striking out 58 in 52 2/3 IP while righties hit only .205 against him. That earned him a trip to the US with the AZL White Sox, going 2-1 with 2 saves and a 3.43 ERA, while righties batted .200. <ref. ibid. </ref>

In 2016, he was on the Great Falls Voyagers when he teamed with Yosmer Solorzano and Adam Panayotovich in a no-hitter of the Helena Brewers; he closed it out for the first Pioneer League no-no in five years. [2] He split the summer between Great Falls (0-3, 6 Sv, 2.55 in 20 G) and the Kannapolis Intimidators (0-3, 4.05 in 10 G). Control was an issue as he walked 33 in 38 innings. He did tie for third in the Pioneer League in saves.

His time in the White Sox chain over, Rocha pitched for Colombia in the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier. He appeared twice while Colombia won a spot in the 2019 Pan American Games. When Colombia beat defending Pan American Games Gold Medal winner Canada, he survived a scoreless inning despite a hit and two walks; he relieved Luis Ortega in the 7th and Ezequiel Zabaleta replaced him in the 8th. He also pitched in a 5-4 win over Nicaragua, replacing Ortega in the 5th with a 3-1 deficit and working 1 2/3 shutout innings (1 BB, 0 H) before José Calero succeeded him. [3]
