Mexican Center League
A class A league that operated from 1960 through 1978, the Mexican Center League was a feeder league for the Mexican League. Many Mexican baseball legends got their start there, including Hector Espino, Maximino León, Nelson Barrera, Jesus Sommers and Fernando Valenzuela. Of the many secondary or tertiary leagues in Mexican baseball history, it had the longest span. The league began as a class D league in 1960, was promoted to class C in 1961, and became a class A league during the minor league reorganization of 1963.
