Team History[edit]
The Monterrey Sultans were known as the Monterrey Industrials until 1950. The team had won four titles in the eight years before the name change - afterwards they went into an 11-year drought before winning the Mexican League championship in 1962. They would also capture the total in 1991, 1995 and 1996, taking 46 years as the Sultans to match what they had accomplished in 8 years as the Industrials. They won again in 2018 and 2024. The name was also used by a team in the 1972 Mexican Center League.
In 2019-20 the Sultanes entered the Mexican Pacific League, but the team is operated as a seperate organisation to the Sultanes of the Mexican League, using different players and coaches.
