Manuel Magallón was a minor league infielder and manager.

Magallón debuted in 1944 with the Mexico City Red Devils, going 2 for 11 with a triple. He did not play in '45 then hit only .209/.269/.291 for the 1946 San Luis Potosi Tuneros. He was one of the lighter hitters in the most famous Mexican League season, when many major leaguers came south. In 1947, he was 11 for 54 with a double, two home runs and four walks for the Monterrey Industrials. He had his best Mexican League season in 1948, hitting .309/.346/.416 for Monterrey; he also played in Organized Baseball for the first time, batting .270 and slugging .376 for the Juarez Indios. Remaining with Juarez in 1949, he improved to .318 with a .486 slugging, 37 doubles and 14 triples. He tied for 7th in the Arizona-Texas League in triples and tied for 8th in doubles.

Manuel hit .293 in 29 games for Juarez in 1950 and then batted .354 with 29 doubles, 13 triples and a .498 slugging in '51. He ranked 5th in the Southwest International League in average and was sixth in triples. He split 1952 between the Nuevo Laredo Owls (7 for 55, 6 BB) and Bisbee-Douglas Copper Kings (.422/.475/.722 in 45 G). The first baseman had gotten and blown his last chance back in the Mexican League, but also had established himself once more in the high-scoring, low-classification southwestern leagues.

In 1953, Magallón got 200 hits for Bisbee-Douglas, batting .368/.431/.566 with 40 doubles and 20 dingers. He was third in the Arizona-Texas League in hits, second in average, 6th in RBI (116) and second in doubles (behind Lloyd Jenney). The Mazatlan native hit .383/?/.564 with 37 doubles, 20 home runs and 217 hits for the 1954 Copper Kings. He was third in hits and fifth in doubles. In his fourth year with Bisbee-Douglas, the veteran infielder hit .340, slugged .508 and slammed 40 doubles. He was second in hits (197, behind Humberto Barbon) and doubles.

Manuel played in 1956 for the Tijuana Potros and Mexicali Eagles, hitting a combined .293 with 18 home runs. He ended his playing career in 1957, putting up a .348/.404/.550 line with 18 more homers and 37 doubles for Mexicali. He was 8th in the Arizona-Mexico League in average and was 5th in doubles. While ending his playing career, he started his managerial career on August 13 as player-manager. He was MVP of the 1958-1959 Mexican Pacific League as 1B for Guaymas.

Magallón would manage in the Mexican League in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. He also guided three Mexican Pacific League champions - the Ostioneros de Guaymas (1958-1959 and 1959-1960) and Yaquis de Obregón (1965-1966).

Overall, Manuel had only hit .236/.262/.325 in 197 games in the Mexican League but had batted .344 with a .524 slugging in 984 games in the affiliated minors.
