Biographical Information[edit]
Alfonso Pena spent many years playing and managing in Mexico. His playing career spanned from the 1940s to the 1960s.
He managed the San Luis Potosi Indians for part of 1963, replacing Barney Serrell; the Puerto Mexico Portenos to begin 1965, before he was replaced by Marcos Cobos; the Lagos de Moreno Caporales in 1977, before being replaced by Domingo Rivera; La Barca of the Mexican Center League in 1978; and the Piratas de Campeche in 1980, after replacing Arnoldo Castro. He led La Barca to a league championship in 1978.
