Biographical Information[edit]
Corito Varona managed the Tabasco Plataneros of the Mexican Southeast League in 1964, leading them to a 52-35 record and a first place finish. He had previously played in Cuba.
He also worked as a scout, discovering Fernando Valenzuela and signing Mike Cuellar, Iván DeJesús, Sr., Cookie Rojas and Tony Gonzalez, among others.
