The 1978 Cerro Azul club in the Mexican Center League is the only minor league team ever from Cerro Azul, Veracruz (through 2011). In the MCL's final season, the club was 26-31 to place 4th in the six-team Gulf Division. They had an attendance of 11,332 and a run differential of 205-219.
