Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Saul Montoya played in the Mexican League (1969, 1971-1976, 1979-1980), Florida Instructional League South (1969) and Mexican Southeast League (1970), beginning his career at 17 years old. He is listed as having played for the Mexican Center League in 1969 as well, leading the loop with a 1.65 ERA and 186 strikeouts, if it is the same Saul Montoya. On May 24, 1970, with the Campeche Pirates, Montoya tossed a no-hitter against the Tabasco Plataneros.
