Regino Moroyoqui pitched briefly in the Mexican League. He debuted in 1970 with the Zacatecas Petroleros of the Mexican Center League, going 7-2 with a 4.20 ERA. In '71, he was 5-3 with a 3.80 ERA for the Zacatecas Tuzos. He served up 7 gopher balls, tied for the league lead. During 1973, the 22-year-old had a 6-2, 2.76 record for the Tamuin Cafeteritos. In 1974, the right-hander had his big year. With the Ciudad Valles club, he was 8-0 with a save and a 0.58 ERA. He allowed 51 hits (1 homer) and 16 walks in 74 innings while fanning 60; only 7 opponents scored, 2 of them unearned. He won the ERA title by .46 over Ricardo Pina and was named an All-Star pitcher. He got his first look at the Mexican League itself, allowing one run in 4 1/3 IP for the Petroleros de Poza Rica.
In 1975, Moroyoqui was 1-2 with a 2.86 ERA for the Guanajuato Tuzos, back in the MCL despite his 1974 performance. He ended his career back with Poza Rica in 1976, allowing 7 runs in 9 innings.
