It is formed of various neighborhoods such as Astoria, Bayside, Cambria Heights, East Elmhurst, Flushing, Jamaica, Long Island City, Richmond Hill or Whitestone, that were once self-standing cities. Shea Stadium was located in the Flushing neighborhood, and Citi Field was built on what used to be the parking lot adjoining Shea.
