Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Peter Strzelecki made his major league debut with the Milwaukee Brewers on June 2, 2022, pitching against the San Diego Padres. He tossed two innings in relief of Adrian Houser and Brent Suter, giving up 1 run on 2 hits and 2 walks, but was credited with Milwaukee's 5-4 win when the Brewers rallied for four runs in the bottom of the 9th, a rally highlighted by a bases-loaded triple by Jace Peterson followed by a game-ending single by Andrew McCutchen.

Strzelecki was undrafted coming out of the University of South Florida and signed with the Brewers on June 17, 2018. He was born in Queens, NY but grew up in south Florida. He was a starter in college but has been used strictly in relief since turning pro. While he had few decisions and middling ERAs in the minors, he set himself apart with excellent strikeout rates, with over one K per inning every season until his initial call-up to Milwaukee.

His brother, Joe Strzelecki, pitched one season in the Miami Marlins organization.
