Biographical Information[edit]
Steve Turco was a minor league utility man from 1979-1984, spending 4 of his six seasons with the St. Petersburg Cardinals and one year (1981) in AA. Turco never hit above .254 and hit 7 home runs in his professional career.
After his playing career ended, he was a coach for the Springfield Cardinals in 1985, Savannah Cardinals in 1986, and Hamilton Redbirds in 1991. He then managed 8 years in the Cardinals system. He has also scouted for the Cards, signing Jon Jay, Carmen Cali, Mark Worrell, Chris Perez, Shane Robinson, Adron Chambers and Tyler Herron. His brother Frank Turco played in the minors and was later a high school coach.
