Biographical Information[edit]
The 1972 draft class featured five players from Mike Proly's college team from St. John's University, though only Proly ever made the big leagues.
Although usually a reliever, Mike Proly did have 2 complete games in his career, both in 1978 while pitching for the Chicago White Sox. The first came on August 1st against the Boston Red Sox. He gave up 6 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), walked 1 and struck out 3. His second complete game of that year came on August 18th against the Cleveland Indians. He gave up 8 hits, 1 earned run, walked 2 and struck out 3. He won both games.
