Games[edit]
November 16[edit]
- Ecuador 5, Chile 2. Keiver Cordero pitches four shutout innings and Ecuador gets two runs apiece from SS Johan León and 2B Orlando León in an opening win. They defeat Emilio Germann-Cisterna.
- Argentina 2, Peru 1. The hosts lose a pitching duel as neither team allows a run in the first seven innings, Peru's Denilson Santoyo keeping pace with Argentina's Lucas Ramón and Juan Borras. In the top of the 8th, against Miguel García, 2B Liam Arakaki drives in SS Alex Takano. Argentina comes back against Ken Ishihara in the bottom of the inning, winning it on a two-run error by Arakaki.
November 17[edit]
- Argentina 2, Brazil 0. The two rivals had a superb pitching match-up. Kevin Riello, Bautista Ramón, Marco Caruso and Lucas Rementería allowed only one hit in the first six for Argentina but were matched by Brazil's Heitor Tokar, Hugo Kanabushi and Igor Kimura. CF Sebastián García drives in 1B Jacinto Cipriota in the 7th with the game's first run, then Argentina tacks on one more. Miguel García completes the one-hitter, as 2B Lucas Rojo got Brazil's lone hit.
- Chile 8, Peru 1. Veteran Pablo Ossandón goes the distance with a four-hitter to give Chile its first win. SS James Sommerville and 3B Manuel Zapata each produce three runs to lead a balance offense. A pinch-hit homer by Andrés Hamamoto is the lone Peruvian run, while the decision goes to Jorge Loyola.
November 18[edit]
- Brazil 10, Chile 0. Brazil's first win is a five-inning, mercy rule four-hitter. Luis dos Santos goes the distance, striking out eight. 2B Gabriel Itikawa has two runs and two RBI.
- Peru 7, Ecuador 0. Peru gets their first victory, Ecuador their first loss. CF Alonso Tenya scores three times and RF Joaquín Vélez reaches all four times up. Marco Castellano and Ken Ishihara combine on a two-hitter, though they walk seven. Marco Viteri does not retire a batter in taking the loss.
November 19[edit]
- Brazil 11, Peru 1. LF Gabriel Itikawa remains hot with four RBI and 1B Alan Fanhoni bangs out three hits, Igor Januário getting the win for Brazil. DH Andrés Hamamoto scores, the only Chilean player to score over the past three games. Ángel Gonzales retires no one in a losing effort.
- Argentina 6, Ecuador 3. Argentina remains unbeaten. Bautista Ramón gets the win with three shutout innings and LF Zimba Cadiz reaches three times and steals three bases. Orlando León is the losing pitcher. DH Raiwinson Lameda has a run and a RBI for Ecuador.
November 20[edit]
- Argentina 11, Chile 1. Argentina finishes the round-robin without a loss, Lucas Uzal going the distance in a five-inning mercy rule rout. CF Sebastián García reaches all four times and produces four runs. 3B Manuel Zapata has the only Chilean run, while the loss went to Javier Araya.
- Brazil 6, Ecuador 3. Brazil got two runs from DH Victor Mascai and two RBI from 1B Allan Fanhoni to end the round-robin phase, the win going to Joao Monteiro. DH Luis Atocha goes 2-for-3 with a run in a losing cause. Taking the decision for Ecuador was Keiver Cordero.
November 21[edit]
- Brazil 10, Chile 0. Brazil begins the semifinals with the same result as their last game against Chile - a five-inning, mercy rule, 10-0 win. Again, Luis dos Santos does the honors with a complete game, this time a three-hitter. SS Felipe Mizukosi goes 3-for-3 with two runs and a RBI to lead the offense. Pablo Ossandón takes the loss.
- Argentina 5, Peru 1. In no surprise, Argentina wins the other semifinal. SS Agustín Tissera triples in a pair in a four-run first and Juan Borras pitches five shutout innings for the win. LF/CF Alonso Tenya and C Susumu Yoza each have three hits for Peru and Jorge Loyola allows one run in 5 2/3 innings as another bright spot. Denilson Santoyo is not as successful as his prior outing against Argentina.
November 23[edit]
- Chile 6, Peru 1. Chile finished third despite only beating Peru. Sebastián Vega and Pablo Ossandón combine on a three-hitter, holding the hosts to one run. DH Diego Beluzaran has two hits, two runs and two RBI. Marco Castellano only lasts 1 1/3 IP in the loss. C Susumu Yoza has Peru's only run.
- Argentina 2, Brazil 1. The two favorites squared off in the title game. SS Felipe Mizukosi drives in C Gabriel Do Carmo with an unearned run in the third, the only run allowed by Lucas Ramón, Bautista Ramón and Kevin Riello. It seems like it will be enough for Brazil as Murilo Gouvêa allows one hit in six shutout innings. Former Astros farmhand Heitor Tokar comes in to close it out and promptly yields two runs to lose it, a two-run single by 1B Jacinto Cipriota with one out to go driving in José Gerez and Sebastián García.
