Raiwinson Lameda has played in the minors and for the Ecuadorian national team.
He was signed by Boston Red Sox scouts Eddie Romero and Angel Escobar at age 16. [1] He hit .220/.282/.300 in his pro debut for the DSL Red Sox in 2013, but had 102 putouts, 4 assists and no errors in the outfield. In 2014, he improved to .307/.360/.412 for the same club, scoring 39 times in 51 games. Coming stateside in 2015, he was 11-for-28 with two doubles, a triple and eight walks for the GCL Red Sox.
As a 1B/LF for the '16 GCL Red Sox, he batted .238/.299/.306. After hitting .240/.268/.339 for the Lowell Spinners, his minor league career was over. He had hit .257/.312/.346 in 224 games as a pro. The Venezuelan native played for Ecuador in the 2024 South American Championship. Debuting against Chile and batting second, he drew a walk from Emilio Germann-Cisterna his first time up and tripled off Nelson Varas for his first hit. He finished the event 5-for-12 with a double, triple, run, two RBI and three walks, while making one error in five chances. He tied for 8th in the event in hits and tied for 5th in total bases with Lucas Rojo, Pedro Okuda and Andres Hamamoto. He led Ecuador in most offensive departments. [2]
