Biographical Information[edit]
Emilio Germann-Cisterna made history as the first pitcher for the Chilean national team in a Pan American Games. He started the 2023 Pan American Games opener against the Mexican national team in a clear mismatch. He began by retiring Randy Romero then allowed a Norberto Obeso single. He wound up going 2 1/3 IP, allowing four hits, six walks and six runs (five earned); Bogdan Leyton took over. He got the loss to Wilmer Ríos. While he was leading the event in walks through 10/25 (when Chile played their last game), two teammates had allowed more runs - Sebastián Vega and Manuel Zapata. [1]
